It’s finally back. Apologues for the delay. But the fourth and final season of Just Ace launches on 29 August.
The new season comes off the back of a hugely successful third season, which saw it once again hit the top of music podcasts in Australia. There was also the launch of the Just Ace book, which topped the music book charts on Amazon Australia.
Season four was always the planned end of the series, and will take our story to the end of the 90s (or so). There will be the usual profiles on bands, and the ups and downs that came with trying to make it as the music industry got bigger and expectations got greater. There’s lots of bands that burnt out fast, and others who broke up after several albums. And the label landscape changed dramatically at the end of the decade, as did the world of music television and festivals. And it all led to a 2000s that we are still grappling with.
Episode 37 of JustAce, the 1997 episode, will be released 29 August 2026. The season will run for 12 weeks.
Volume 2 of the Just Ace book, which will cover seasons three and four of the podcast, will be released in mid November. More information on that to come.
And then that’s it! It’s over. It’s never gonna be that way again.
