Dave Graney
Dave Graney is often really Dave Graney and Claire Moore. But I know I also left out a lot about the rest of Graney’s collaborators. Notably Coral Snakes like bass player Gordy Blair, guitarist Rob Hayward and keyboard player Rob Casinader.
They looked very different from Graney and Moore’s earlier band The Moodists.

Dave wrote a couple of books. I very much enjoyed 1001 Australian Nights, which you can buy from his website.

He reissued 1993’s Night Of The Wolverine on vinyl this year so hopefully the others are not far away. Dave is very much active and you can find out more on his website.
The Welcome Mat
There’s really not much on The Welcome Mat online. They were a beautiful moment but very much didn’t last.
Only their last album is on streaming.

Yup. Sony managed to take a band that made two albums and make an ‘Essential’ compilation.
Even As We Speak
Above – the band in London, 1993.
The band signed to the acclaimed indie Sarah Records in the UK.
Here’s Even As We Speak – still going strong and performing at a Glaswegian pop festival just last year.
There’s no comp, but here’s their big crazy album Feral Pop Frenzy
